Join us for the opening reception on Tuesday, November, 5th at 8 PM EST at the Arsham/Fieg Gallery in Kith Soho.
Super Future Kid’s work is a reflection of her ongoing quest for eternal childhood. Her wacky, high chroma creations show elated views on life and give the viewers a chance to engage with their own childlike sense of wonder and play as if being handed a pair of magical spectacles.
By creating sculptures and paintings in a broad variety of sizes and employing materials such as candy-colored paint, play-doh, stickers, resin, polyurethane, plaster, clay and glitter, her work explores ideas of childhood and youth – stages in life that are simultaneously endorsed by western popular culture and yet too soon dismissed or displaced by society to make way of the serious-mindedness of the adult life.
In “Dreams on Demand” the new work explores ideas of light-hearted indifference, a state of mind that seems harder than ever to come by in our anxiety-inducing age of social media. Remembering a childhood that was largely taking place in a pre-internet world, the paintings and sculptures in this body of work show moments of relaxation and bliss where the only concern is the favorite TV show, video games or your pet cat.
The exhibition will be open from November 5th - December 1st.
